Applying for a job
Imagine that you have already done a degree or taken any other type of post-secondary studies.
You are now going to apply for a job which is related to what you have studied, so you will write your own CV and you will fill in the application form we saw in class.
In order to do that, take into account that you are in your third job, so you have to give details of two previous employments.
Modify the application form we saw in class so that it is for a position related to what you have studied.
Be sure that your CV and your application form are related, both are going to be handed in for a same position.
On Friday 27th May, you will hand in your printed CV in person in class. Before that date, you will send your application form to my email address.

Ancient mummy found wearing Adidas boots
An ancient mummy that was found in Mongolia has gone viral online because it seems to be wearing Adidas boots. Many people have been tweeting that the mummy is proof that time travel exists. The mummy was discovered in the Altai Mountains in a remote part of western Mongolia. Researchers say it is around 1,500 years old. The mummy’s boots look very similar to a pair of snowboarding boots made by the sportswear company Adidas. The mummy's boots have the same three stripes that Adidas is famous for putting on all its footwear. A picture of the boots has gone viral and people are saying the mummy is actually a modern human who travelled back in time.
The mummy's grave was first found in 2010 by local farmers. Last October, archaeologists started digging deeper as they thought the site contained many important things. Earlier this month, the archaeologists found horse's saddles, clay vases, wooden bowls, and metal kettles. The archaeologists said the site was the first complete Turkic burial ground found in Central Asia. The first Turkic people started living in a region between Central Asia and Siberia around 2,600 years ago. They had their own language, including a unique alphabet. Wolves and the colour blue were very important in their culture. Some historians say the word 'turquoise' comes from the word 'Turkish'.

Sonnet 18: Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? by William Shakespeare
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

The $265,000 job that no one wants
Read the text and answer the following question in no less than 30 words before 21:00, 31st March:
If you were a doctor and you were offered that job, what would you do? explain your answer.
There is a job available in the small New Zealand town of Tokoroa, but no one wants it. The job is for a doctor and it pays US$265,000 a year. For the lucky doctor who takes the job, there is no night work, no weekend work, and house prices in the area are low. Also, he or she would work just four days a week and get 12 weeks' annual holiday. The town's current doctor Alan Kenny is leaving and cannot find anyone to replace him. He has been looking for a replacement for two years but has had no success. Four medical recruitment companies also failed to find a replacement. Dr Kenny thinks the problem is that the job is in the countryside and everyone wants to live and work in the big cities.
It is not only New Zealand that has problems trying to get doctors to live in rural areas. It is also a problem in many other countries too. Last year, Dr Kenny had to cancel a family holiday because he could not find anyone to replace him. Dr Kenny is from the UK and has been a doctor in Tokoroa for 30 years. He said he has a great lifestyle and he wouldn't swap it for city life. At the age of 61, he wants to retire and pass his patients on to someone younger. He told a local newspaper that his job keeps him busy all day and that he loves his work. He is worried about how he can find a new doctor. He said: "I would like to stay but I hit my head against a brick wall trying to attract doctors."
